About Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Obstetrics is the medical specialty that dealing with the care of all women’s reproductive tracts and their children during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. Most Obstetricians are also Gynaecologists which means that the physician would practice in both specialties.

Obstetrics i.e. Care of Pregnant ladies from conception to birth and include prenatal care especially for those who had experienced Recurrent Miscarriages. Gynaecology which would include the following: Screening for Cancers of Women:

• Breast Cancers (Breast Examinations & Mammograms)
• Cervix Cancers (Papsmears ,Colposcopies & LLetz)

All types of Operative Gynaecology is offered including removal of the womb were indicated Vaginal or Abdominal approach.

Interest has grown over the years of Minimal Invasive Surgery through Laparoscopic approach giving these laddies less scars for the same extent of the surgery done through the open procedure.
